Expert pain relief in Folkestone

Holistic care for your wellbeing

We offer expert pain relief at our clinic in Folkestone, Kent.

Many common physical ailments can be successfully treated using Osteopathy.

Osteopaths work by seeking to understand the cause of your pain and then, using gentle manipulative techniques, aim to treat the root cause rather than just the pain itself.

We believe in holistic healthcare - our philosophy is that to enjoy the best of long-term health we need to keep not just our bodies, but our minds, too,  as active and well as possible.

Osteopathic care is based on the principle that while the body is a self-healing organism, it occasionally requires a helping hand - this is where we come in.

What do Osteopaths do?

It's commonly believed that Osteopaths are 'just for backs' - and whilst we are great at helping relieve back pain, there's so much more than we can offer.

As Osteopaths, we work to restore your body to a state of balance. We use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues and organs, and to help improve your body’s own healing mechanisms.

If you don't like being clicked, that's ok! There are lots of other gentle and effective techniques that we can use to help get you feeling better again.

We also provide lifestyle advice and exercise programmes to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

How many appointments will I need?

Generally, most people have three or four treatments, however, this will vary greatly depending on your condition.

After your initial consultation your osteopath should be able to give you an estimation of the number of treatments you may require.

(For Pelvic Health rehab & chronic conditions the number of sessions tends to be more, for acute injuries or pain the number of sessions tends to be less).

Are Osteopaths medical professionals?

Osteopaths undertake 4 years of Degree training, including 1000 clinical hours as student practitioners. We are trained to identify when a patient needs to be referred to a GP or needs further tests to help diagnose a problem.

Osteopaths are Allied Healthcare Professionals (AHPs) - this means that Osteopathic training has met rigorous standards to be recognised as an NHS Allied Health Profession.

All osteopaths in the UK are governed and regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). The title 'Osteopath' is protected by law. It is against the law for anyone to call themselves an Osteopath unless they are registered with the GOsC.

We are required to renew our registration each year and obtain an annual licence to practise. As part of this process, the GOsC checks that Osteopaths have current professional indemnity insurance, remain in good health and of good character, and have met mandatory continuing professional development requirements.
