The postnatal check you deserve

Up to half of all postnatal people experience difficulties in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy, and up to a third have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth. This can lead to the development of pelvic and/or back pain, and/or bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.

It's also very common for back or shoulder pain to develop, as your body is adjusting to the new challenges of parenthood.

New parents need to bend, squat and lift daily, so we provide postnatal clinical care and at-home exercise programmes in order to feel strong and efficient in these movements.

What does a Postnatal Check involve?

Your Postnatal Check includes:

  • Full postural screen
  • Screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction
  • Checking the healing of abdominal (C-Section) or episiotomy scars
  • Pelvic floor muscle assessment
  • Abdominal muscle exam to check for any diastasis recti abdominis (DRA)
  • Education and advice on activities such as lifting your baby or pushing a buggy
  • Bespoke rehabilitation programme with your goals and lifestyle factors in mind
  • A written report of the findings of your assessment

Cheryl also utilises Low Level Laser Therapy and LPG Endermologie® to help any scars heal to their best potential.
